On the intercom side, check the control board inside the operator housing for a part number starting with “D” (Deimos) or “P” (Phobos) and match to that, not to the brand on the handset.

Signs Your BFT Keypad & Intercom Is Failing

• Keypad beeps but gate stays still. The keypad’s radio transmitter or wired output is working, but the signal isn’t reaching the operator board. We usually find a corroded screw terminal or a relay that’s welded shut on the operator side, not a dead keypad.
• Buttons only work in dry weather. Garden Grove’s coastal humidity is brutal on unprotected keypad connectors. Moisture gets behind the keypad membrane, shorts the matrix, and the buttons go intermittent until the board dries out.
